New Click Map provides link insight

by SavvySender Monday, August 04, 2014 8:30 AM EST

The Savvy Sender team has added a new Click Map when viewing a sent message, which shows how many unique and total contacts clicked each link in your message.

This is great new functionality, because it shows not only the number of times a link has been clicked, but also the specific link that has been clicked.

For example, if your message has 2 links to www.savvysender.com, and a contact clicks one of these links, then you would know they clicked the www.savvysender.com link, but you would not know if they clicked the first or second link. Our new Click Map visually shows the number of clicks by link overlaid on top of your sent message.

List-Unsubscribe header added

by SavvySender Thursday, July 10, 2014 3:22 PM EST

Savvy Sender now automatically adds the List-Unsubscribe header to every email. This makes unsubscribing even easier for contacts, since email services like Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, Outlook.com, and many others look for this header and then automatically add an unsubscribe link near the top of the page when the email is opened.

Although losing subscribers is never ideal, a small amount of list attrition is normal and the List-Unsubscribe header helps prevent the contact from flagging your email as spam, which could negatively impact your future delivery rates and open rates.

To increase engagement and decrease unsubscribes, make sure your subject and content are as relevant as possible and are only sent to people whom opted-in.

Happy 4th of July!

by SavvySender Friday, July 04, 2014 10:17 AM EST

Savvy Sender would like to wish everyone a happy Fourth of July!

Did you know (according to History.com)?

“John Adams believed that July 2nd was the correct date on which to celebrate the birth of American independence, and would reportedly turn down invitations to appear at July 4th events in protest. Adams and Thomas Jefferson both died on July 4, 1826--the 50th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.”

We hope you enjoy the fresh air, the beautiful weather, and most importantly, our nation’s freedom!

DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) added

by SavvySender Monday, June 16, 2014 1:32 PM EST

We are pleased to announce DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) has been added to Savvy Sender! DKIM helps validate the sender through authentication, which means improved delivery of your emails! Per DKIM.org:

“DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) lets an organization take responsibility for a message that is in transit.  The organization is a handler of the message, either as its originator or as an intermediary. Their reputation is the basis for evaluating whether to trust the message for further handling, such as delivery. Technically DKIM provides a method for validating a domain name identity that is associated with a message through cryptographic authentication.”

Learn more about DKIM on the DKIM.org website.

by SavvySender Monday, May 26, 2014 8:53 AM EST

The Savvy Sender team would like to thank all of the brave men and women for their U.S. military service!

In case you are interested in a quick history lesson from History.com:

“Memorial Day, an American holiday observed on the last Monday of May, honors men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in parades.”

We hope you have a safe and family filled holiday!

The Heartbleed Bug (OpenSSL vulnerability)

by SavvySender Wednesday, April 09, 2014 8:46 AM EST

The Heartbleed Bug is a serious vulnerability in OpenSSL, which recently came to light and impacts encryption for various Web servers, Web browsers, operating systems, and many other software applications. According to The Heartbleed Bug website:

“The Heartbleed Bug is a serious vulnerability in the popular OpenSSL cryptographic software library. This weakness allows stealing the information protected, under normal conditions, by the SSL/TLS encryption used to secure the Internet. SSL/TLS provides communication security and privacy over the Internet for applications such as web, email, instant messaging (IM) and some virtual private networks (VPNs).

The Heartbleed bug allows anyone on the Internet to read the memory of the systems protected by the vulnerable versions of the OpenSSL software. This compromises the secret keys used to identify the service providers and to encrypt the traffic, the names and passwords of the users and the actual content. This allows attackers to eavesdrop on communications, steal data directly from the services and users and to impersonate services and users.”

We highly recommend users and administrators install updates and patches to all software including, but not limited to Web browsers and operating systems, as soon as possible. Additionally, for users still using Windows XP, we recommend upgrading to the newest, most secure version of Windows (Windows 8.1).

To learn more about Heartbleed, visit The Heartbleed Bug website.
